Post-Symposium Summary
Sustainable Water Resources: Complex Challenges, Integrated Solutions
The 10th Biennial UF Water Institute Symposium, Sustainable Water Resources: Complex Challenges, Integrated Solutions, marked a milestone year with the introduction of an expanded three-day program. Hosted in partnership with Duke Energy, the Symposium welcomed more than 500 researchers, practitioners, policymakers, and partners from a wide range of disciplines to explore critical water challenges across geographic and temporal scales.
For the first time, the extended format allowed for deeper engagement, collaboration, and dialogue across the water community. The program featured more than 300 presentations and a dynamic mix of sessions designed to foster the exchange of ideas and advance integrated solutions for sustaining water resources.
The 2026 Symposium highlighted innovative advances in science, technology, policy, management, education, communication, and the arts—demonstrating the value of interdisciplinary approaches to complex water issues.
New in 2026, the Symposium introduced a Career Fair and Networking Reception, expanding opportunities for meaningful connections between students, early-career professionals, and organizations. The enhanced program created space for stronger engagement and lasting partnerships across the water sector.
