Student Scholarships
The 2026 UF Water Institute Symposium Student Scholarships aim to promote broad student participation by supporting access for individuals across the state who bring diverse academic and experiential perspectives. These scholarships are made possible through support from UF/IFAS CALS and generous contributions to the Water Institute Planning Fund.
Eligibility
The 2026 UF Water Institute Symposium Student Scholarships will support full-time senior undergraduate and graduate students from any Florida University or College who are interested in exploring water issues to attend the Symposium. Preference will be given to students attending the Symposium for the first time and students traveling to attend the Symposium. We highly encourage students who are Pell Grant recipients, first-generation college students, non-traditional students, “2+2” transfer students from the Florida College System, students from low-income families, or students with unique abilities or circumstances to apply.
What will the Scholarship cover?
- Student Registration fee (includes two lunches)
- For students residing over 50 miles from Gainesville: Three nights lodging at the Reitz Union hotel (includes breakfast)
- Students are responsible for transportation and any additional other costs
Requirements
- Students must submit an abstract to participate in the student poster competition.
- Only students whose abstracts are accepted will be eligible for scholarship support.
- Students, including those not enrolled at the University of Florida, receiving travel support must complete a UF Travel Request and a UF Expense Report.
How to Apply?
To apply for a scholarship, Students must fill out the application form by October 17, 2025.
