Call for Abstracts

Submission Deadline: January 8, 2025

For the first time ever, all available slots for oral presentations have been used up by submitted and approved sessions. Unless you were confirmed by a session organizer to speak in a pre-approved session, there are no remaining speaking slots available. However, you are encouraged to submit a poster abstract. General abstract submissions (not part of a pre-approved session) will be considered solely for presentation as posters.

If your oral presentation is part of a pre-approved session, please submit your abstract by the submission deadline. Abstracts will be published electronically in the book of abstracts.

We encourage submission of poster abstracts from individuals working in Everglades science, restoration, management, and other related topics. Please note and consider the conference theme – “Restoration in a Changing Climate”, and the link below to potential topics.

Presentation Formats

Oral Presentations

Abstract submissions for oral presentations are restricted to only those that are part of a pre-approved session.

Poster Presentations

Posters will be on display in the Poster and Sponsor Display Room, the primary gathering spot where morning, mid-day and afternoon refreshments are served. These networking functions maximize opportunities for discussion amongst poster presenters, attendees, and sponsors.

  • Space is limited to 96 posters and submissions will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • Posters will be presented in one of two formal poster sessions.
  • Detailed display specifications will be provided in the poster presenter notification.

Note: All presentations must be delivered by in-person attendees. There are no remote presentation options.

Abstract Preparation & Submission Guidelines:

Follow these steps to prepare and submit an abstract:
  1. Use this Abstract Template (.docx) to create a perfectly formatted abstract.
  2. Proof your abstract carefully and obtain applicable approvals prior to submission.
Additional Information:
  • To allow as many people as possible to give an oral presentation, authors are limited to giving a maximum of one talk, however, you may also present one poster, for a maximum of two abstract submissions per person.
  • Presentations should be of original research, which has been substantially completed, but which has not yet been published as a full paper in a scientific journal.
  • Proof your abstract carefully and obtain applicable approvals prior to submission.
  • Complete the online submission form linked in the button below.
  • Be mindful of typos. If your email address is incorrect, you will not receive a confirmation.
  • Please review the conference Critical Dates & Deadlines
Registration Required to Present

All presenters (oral and poster) are required to register and pay the applicable fee by Friday, March 7, 2025, to attend and present at the conference. If not registered by Friday, March 7, 2025, your abstract will not be published and will be removed from the program.

Abstract Submission Fee

A fee of $35.00 per abstract is charged at the time of submission. This fee must be paid by credit card so have your credit card handy before you begin the abstract submission process. The fee is non-refundable.

Submission Confirmation

After completing the online submission, a confirmation is instantly emailed to you verifying transmission of the abstract. If you don't receive this email, we did not receive your abstract. Don't see the confirmation email in your inbox? Check your spam folder.

Registration Fees

To assist you with budgeting for participation, we anticipate fees will be $650 for government and non-profit attendees, $695 for industry representatives and $495 for student attendees, with higher fees after the early bird deadline. There is no one-day registration available for the conference. We will announce confirmed registration fees in early January.
