Student Competition

A Student Competition will be held in conjunction with the 2020 Conference on Applied Statistics in Agriculture and Natural Resources. All presentations by bachelors, masters and PhD students are eligible to participate. Student presentations will be scored based on a standard set of judging criteria. Be sure to consider these evaluation parameters as you prepare your presentation for the conference.

If you would like to be considered for this competition, be sure to indicate your interest when completing the abstract submission form.


Student Competition Categories

Best Student Oral Presentation

This award will honor the best oral presentation given by a student during the conference. Each student presenter will be evaluated by a panel of judges using standardized scoring criteria. The three highest ranked oral presentatiors will receive a certificate and a monetary prize of $500, $300, and $200 for first, second, and third place, respectively.

Best Student Poster Presentation

This award will honor the best poster presentation given by a student during the conference. Each student presenter will be evaluated by a panel of judges using standardized scoring criteria. The three highest ranked poster presentations will receive a certificate and a monetary prize of $500, $300, and $200 for first, second, and third place, respectively.


Student Awards

Winners will be announced on Tuesday, April 28, 2020 at 4:30pm. Judging forms with written feedback will be made available to presenters via email a week after the conference.
