2017 Natural Capital Symposium: Save the Date!

March 20-23, 2017 | Stanford, CA

Please join us for the 2017 Natural Capital Symposium at Stanford University from March 20-23, 2017. Featuring keynote speakers Carter Roberts, President and CEO of World Wildlife Fund, and Mark Tercek, President and CEO of The Nature Conservancy, this event is a major convening of leaders advancing the science and practice of incorporating nature’s diverse values into decisions. Interactive sessions throughout the symposium will focus on five central themes: sustainable development planning, securing freshwater, fostering resilient coastal communities, developing sustainable cities, and creating standards for the private sector.

Last year’s symposium drew nearly 300 people from 32 countries, representing universities, NGOs, businesses, governments, and other institutions. We heard from over 100 presenters about advances in the science, the development of tools, and how natural capital understanding is being used to inform decisions around the world. We will share additional details about the 2017 event and open the call for abstracts in mid-June 2016. The Climate Learning Network (CLN)

The Climate Learning Network (CLN) offers free eLearning modules and other online resources aimed at helping Extension professionals in natural resources and agriculture add climate science to existing Extension programming. The eLearning modules focus on practical ways to communicate climate science fundamentals and climate mitigation and adaptation methods to agriculture and natural resource land managers, landowners, and the public. Select modules can be taken for continuing education credits from the Society of American Foresters (SAF) and/or Certified Crop Advisors (CCA).
