Our symposium host hotel is the downtown DoubleTree by Hilton at the Alliant Energy Power House, located just two blocks from Cedar Rapids Museum of Art and Paramount Theatre. The hotel offers a fun, convenient stay right in the heart of downtown and is connected directly to the convention center, where our meetings will be held. With modern rooms, great city views, and the signature warm chocolate chip cookie at check-in, it’s a welcoming spot that will make your visit easy and enjoyable. Plus, the hotel offers a top-floor restaurant, indoor pool, and 24-hour fitness center in addition to a complimentary airport shuttle.
Group Lodging Information
Room blocks and special rates are available for symposium attendees. Rates include FREE in-room and lobby WiFi. The hotel also provides a courtesy airport shuttle.

Important Announcement
The federal per diem room block at the Cedar Rapids DoubleTree Hotel has been filled, and the federal rate is no longer available.
Federal employees are eligible to receive the discounted HABS group rate, and we encourage you to book the host hotel. This requires obtaining advance approval from your agency travel manager to exceed per diem. Please Note: Staying at another hotel may result in additional transportation, rental car, and parking costs.
Additional Taxes & Fees Charged to Guest Room Rates
- Destination Fee: 3%/night
- Room Tax: 12%/night
Note to all Attendees: Once you arrive at the hotel, if you check out earlier than the departure date that was reserved, the hotel will add a $50 early checkout fee. Be sure your dates are correct when you reserve a room.
Cancellation Policy
Reservations must be cancelled 48-hours prior to arrival to avoid paying a penalty equal to a one-night stay.
Reservation Deadline to Receive Group Discount
HABS attendees are eligible for the discounted rate until Friday, September 18, 2026, or until the room block is full. Since the hotel may fill before the deadline, we urge you to make a reservation as soon as possible. After the reservation deadline, the discounted group rate will no longer be available.
Parking
On-site, $15.00 per day (Valet parking is not available.)
