Congratulations Student Competition Winners!

A Student Competition was held in conjunction with IFTBC2019. All presentations by bachelors, masters and PhD students were eligible to participate. IFTBC attendees who volunteered as judges assessed student presentations within their field of expertise. Student presentations were scored based on a standard set of judging criteria. Below are a list of winners:

1st Place - Best Lightning Talk ($100 Award):

2nd Place - Best Lightning Talk ($50 Award):

1st Place - Best Poster Presentation ($100 Award):

Ms. Maryjo Valle, University of Florida
Presentation: Genetic Variability in the USDA Cynodon Germplasm Collection for Bermudagrass Stem Maggot and Agronomic Traits

2nd Place - Best Poster Presentation ($50 Award):

Ms. Jamie Buhlman, University of Florida
Presentation: Identifying St. Augustinegrass Off-types in Sod Production Fields

Oral Evaluations during Sessions Monday and Tuesday, March 25 & 26
Poster Evaluations during Two Poster Sessions Monday and Tuesday, March 25 & 26 (5:00pm – 6:30pm)
Awards Committee meets to compile and rank presentations and confirm winning presenters Tuesday, March 26 (7:00pm – 8:00pm)
Awards Presentation at Conference Wednesday, March 27 (during closing dinner banquet from 6:30pm – 8:30pm)
