Call for Nominations: Lifetime Achievement Award

The 24th International Pepper Conference Organizing Committee is soliciting nominations for the Lifetime Achievement Award. The purpose of this award is to recognize up to three (3) individuals who have contributed to the advancement of Capsicum research, extension, technology and knowledge in the areas of breeding and genetics, horticultural management and production (including production methods, cultural systems and sustainable approaches), integrated pest management, and post-harvest issues. Preference will be given to individuals who have demonstrated outstanding leadership and participation in the International Pepper Conference and who have made significant contributions to the science and knowledge of peppers. The nominator may be any individual, committee, or organization.
Award recipients will be announced during the dinner banquet at the conference on Tuesday, November 6, 2018.
Nomination criteria
- Candidate(s) may be nominated by any individual, committee or organization.
- Nominee must have attended at least three (3) International Pepper Conferences.
- The nominee must have been, or is currently active in some facet of the pepper industry including breeding, productions, research or extension.
- Self-nominations will not be accepted.
Nominations must be submitted by sending one email include all of the following:
- Completed nomination form
- A written, detailed biography on this individual stating:
- How this individual has contributed to outstanding leadership to the International Pepper Conference and/or the advancement of Capsicum research, extension, technology and knowledge
- How this individual has contributed significant contributions to the science and knowledge of peppers
- At least two (2) letters of recommendation in support of this individual’s nomination
- One digital photograph of the nominated person (JPG File – 300 DPI minimum)
