Restoration Coffee Houses
A major goal of GEER is to provide participants with
a unique opportunity to collectively identify
vitally important issues faced by ecosystem
restoration in the Greater Everglades. It is
important that we understand what practices and
processes are used for dealing with issues,
determine what has worked and what has not worked,
and most importantly, why. In addition to
programmatic sessions of contributed papers which
allow restoration practitioners to share accumulated
knowledge, GEER 2008 will feature special sessions
called “Restoration Coffee Houses” (RCH).
These Coffee House sessions will allow for an
interactive discussion on challenges and
opportunities relevant to critical topics such as:
-
Priorities and Sequencing to achieve success
-
Incremental Adaptive Restoration (IAR) – Decision
critical uncertainties relevant to Planning, Policy,
and Science
-
To Model or Not to Model – that is
the question.
