Master Gardener Conference

Florida-Friendly Landscaping™/Florida Yards and Neighborhoods

The Florida-Friendly Landscaping™ (FFL) Program was developed to provide science-based interdisciplinary educational resources that result in the adoption of environmentally friendly landscape practices to reduce water use & non point source pollution, protect water bodies and natural resources, and enhance the lives of Floridians. Master Gardeners who have received additional FFL training in their county can become Florida Yard Advisors and help homeowners evaluate and reduce the environmental impacts of their landscapes.

All Master Gardeners play a key role in educating homeowners and Florida residents about the nine Florida-Friendly Landscaping™ principles:

  • Right Plant, Right Place
  • FYNWater Efficiently · Fertilize Appropriately
  • Mulch
  • Attract Wildlife
  • Control Yard Pests Responsibly
  • Recycle
  • Reduce Storm water Runoff
  • Protect the Waterfront

Conference participants will have the opportunity to attend concurrent sessions sponsored by the Florida-Friendly Landscaping™ Program.
