The 35th Florida Master Gardener Continued Training Conference will be held at the St. Johns County Convention Center at the Renaissance World Golf Village.

The property is conveniently located to several natural attractions, such as Anastasia State Park and the Guana River Wildlife Management Area, a segment of the Great Florida Birding and Wildlife Trail (see local attractions page).

You’ll be able to explore historic St. Augustine, the nation’s oldest colonial city, just a short drive away, and if you are a golfer, the hotel features two exceptional championship golf courses (Slammer & Squire and King & Bear), as well as the World Golf Hall of Fame museum. Relax and rejuvenate at The Spa World Golf Village, a complimentary shuttle ride from the hotel or experience the impressive IMAX Theater. You can also enjoy shopping at the St. Augustine Premium Outlets, just a short distance from the hotel. The hotel is pleased to offer complimentary shuttle service to downtown St. Augustine.

The Caddy Shack restaurant and bar located right next to the resort provides an ideal spot for socializing with old and new friends or a great dinner outing.

Discounted Group Rate & Reservation Instructions

Group Room Rate:

$121 per night + taxes (currently 12.5%) with one or two people in a standard room. The group rate will be honored three days prior to and three days following the conference dates, based on availability.

Only guests booked within the Master Gardener room block will receive negotiated perks including:

  • FREE Wi-Fi in your guest rooms
  • FREE access to the hotel fitness center
  • FREE parking for overnight guests

Reservations must be made by Friday, September 15, 2017

If you plan to room with multiple people, please include all names on the hotel reservation. All reservations must be guaranteed with a major credit card. Cancellation of individual reservations within 72 hours of arrival will be charged one night’s room & tax, including no-shows.

For participants seeking tax-exempt status, please be sure to present your Florida sales tax exemption certificate and government-issued ID at check-in. Payment must be made in the form of a government-issued check or credit card to qualify for tax-exemption.

Facility Usage Fee

The guest room block and group room rate that have been negotiated with the host hotel include costs incurred to provide the large quantity of meeting space required for this conference. If a sufficient number of guest rooms are not occupied by conference attendees throughout the meeting, organizers will incur additional costs for meeting room rental charges. Therefore, we encourage all meeting participants to stay at the host hotel. Participants not lodging at the Renaissance World Golf Village during the conference will be charged a $100 Facility Usage Fee to cover their portion of meeting room rental charges incurred.

Hotel Reservation Fraud Alert:
It is possible you may be contacted by a company claiming to be the official housing bureau for this conference. These companies contact conference exhibitors and attendees, telling them the guest room block is sold out at the host hotel. The company then quotes a rate at another hotel, claiming it is an official room block and that you must reserve through them to get discounted rates. They ask for your credit card information so they can make a reservation for you. DO NOT FALL FOR THIS or you will lose your money. This scam is affecting conferences all over the country. No matter what meeting you attend, always use the hotel reservation links provided on the host organization’s website.
