Call for Abstracts

Abstract Submission Opens: Monday, September 16, 2019

Abstracts Due: Friday, November 22, 2019

This international symposium provides a framework for scientists to share technical information on various topics related to coupled biogeochemical cycling of macro-elements and associated organic and inorganic contaminants. If you are working in the field of biogeochemistry, you are encouraged to submit an abstract for consideration as an oral or poster presentation and share your work at the symposium. Submissions will be grouped to form thematic sessions, so please review the topic list beforehand to determine the best topical fit for your work, as you will be asked to select a topic when uploading your abstract file.

Oral Presentations

To allow as many people as possible to give a talk, all authors are limited to giving a maximum of one oral presentation, however, you may present multiple posters if you wish.

Poster Presentations

Posters will be on display throughout the conference in the Poster & Sponsor Display Room. This is the primary gathering spot where morning, mid-day and afternoon refreshments are served. These networking functions maximize opportunities for discussion amongst poster presenters, attendees and sponsors.

Abstract Submission Fee

Abstracts must be submitted online. Please do not email them. A fee of $25.00 per abstract is charged at the time of submission and is to be paid by credit card, so have your card number handy before you begin the submission process. This fee is non-refundable. If later you choose to withdraw your abstract, this fee is not refunded.

Registration Required to Participate and Present

Presenters, both oral and poster, are required to register and pay the applicable fee in order to attend and present at the conference. We anticipate the registration fee will be approximately $525 for corporate, government, academia and non-profit attendees, and $325 for students and retirees. There will be no one-day fees offered. All presenters, oral and poster, are required to register and pay the applicable fee by Friday, February 14, 2020 to confirm participation.

Follow these steps to prepare and submit an abstract:

  1. Use this template to create a perfectly formatted abstract.
  2. Proof your abstract carefully, and obtain applicable approvals prior to submission.
  3. Complete the online submission form linked below. (Watch for typos. If your email address is incorrect, you won’t receive a confirmation.)
  4. Upload your abstract file as a Microsoft Word file by Friday, November 22, 2019.
