• Conference participants are invited to submit an abstract on topics listed in the program. Authors of abstracts selected for presentation will be required to submit a manuscript for conference publication and presentation. The deadline to submit a manuscript is June 26, 2000.
• Manuscript authors will be required to re-submit a proofed, print-ready version of their abstract thus giving them the opportunity to update and revise the initial abstract.
• All abstracts should be concise and written in grammatically correct English. If English is not your native language, you should seek the help of a colleague or professional translator.
• Abstracts should be no more than 200 words briefly specifying the aims of the work, the main results obtained, and the conclusions drawn.
• The title of the abstract should be as concise as possible.
• You must obtain permission to publish material and for using any other material protected by copyright where necessary.
• NOTE: Manuscripts resulting from the conference will be peer reviewed and the best of these will be selected for the International Water Association’s proceedings journal Water Science and Technology. Manuscripts accepted for publication by IWA Publishing must not have been published, submitted for publication elsewhere or offered for presentation for another conference without the consent of IWA Publishing.

Abstracts should be prepared in ONE of the following digital formats:

• Microsoft Word ('97 or below)
• WordPerfect (v 6.x or below)
• Microsoft Works for Windows word processor file (v. 4.5 or below)
• Rich Text Format (an available "save as" option on most current word processors)
• ASCII text file (use this only if you cannot save the document in one of the above formats -- Please note: If you select this option, be sure to FAX a hard copy of your abstract to OCI at 352-392-9734.)

• Full name of presenter / contact person (specify if presenter or contact person)
• Mailing address
• Phone number
• FAX number
• Email address
• Indicate whether abstract is submitted for ORAL or POSTER presentation

Send an electronic file of the abstract should be sent to the Office of Conferences & Institutes by March 31, 2000, as follows:

• Email the abstract (as an attached file) to:  mrp@gnv.ifas.ufl.edu   [You may do that now from a properly configured WWW browser. Simply click on the email link above and attach the abstract file to your email.]

-- Prepare the SUBJECT: line of your email header as follows: LAST NAME-WaterPollution-Oral/Poster Submission (specify which)
-- Each abstract should be submitted via a separate email.
