Call for Abstracts

The deadline to submit an abstract has passed.

All individuals involved in breeding, genetics, statisticians, and students actively engaged in applying modern tools to accelerate breeding, enhance genetic gain and improve adaptation of forages, turfgrasses and bioenergy crops are strongly encouraged to submit an abstract for consideration as an oral or poster presentation. Abstracts must be submitted electronically via the online submission form by October 3, 2018 following the detailed submission instructions. The program will focus on:

Program Topics

  • Genetic tools (genomics, metabolomics, genome editing, transgenic, etc.)
  • Phenotyping technologies (remote sensing, root architecture, high-throughput tools, etc.)
  • Abiotic stresses (H20, Temperature, Nutrient, Shade, Salinity, pH, Wear, etc.)
  • Biotic stresses (Insect, Disease, Nematode, Viral)
  • Forage Quality/Antiquality (nutritive value, toxic compounds, NIRS, etc.)
  • Genetic resources and novel species
  • Symbiosis (endophytes, BNF, BNI, etc.)
  • Bioenergy grasses (breeding and genetics)
  • Cover crops (breeding and genetics)
  • Seed quality and yield (photoperiod, seed set, sterility, dormancy, etc.)

Please Note: All program participants, including speakers, poster presenters, panelists, session organizers and moderators, must also pay the conference registration fee to attend and participate in the conference.

Follow these steps to prepare and submit an abstract:

  1. Use this word template to create a perfectly formatted abstract.
    • Abstracts should not exceed one page (250 to 500 words).
    • Do not include graphs or figures.
    • Include a brief bio and your full contact information at the end of the abstract.
    • Be careful of typos. If your email address is incorrect, you will not receive a confirmation.*
  2. Submit your abstract by October 3, 2018 using the online abstract submission form linked by the button below. (Do not email your file. Files sent as email attachments will not be reviewed or scheduled.)
  3. Individuals are limited to giving one oral talk. However, speakers may also present one or more posters.
  4. Registration is required to participate and present. All presenters, oral and poster, are required to register and pay the applicable fee by December 7, 2018 to confirm participation in the program. 
  5. Save the submission confirmation. Upon completing these steps, you’ll receive a confirmation email.
