Course
Information and Equipment Requirements |
Students are asked to provide their own compound microscopes if possible. A
limited number of microscopes will be available for student use, but those students who
are able to bring a microscope are requested to do so. Dissecting equipment and other
supplies will be provided. The text Fish Disease: Diagnosis and Treatment by Dr. Ed
Noga (Iowa State University Press) is strongly recommended. An in-house library will be
available, but students are asked to bring Dr. Nogas book if possible.
The course will be held at two consecutive locations. The first week (June
5-9) will
be at the University of Floridas Tropical Aquaculture Laboratory located in Ruskin,
Florida (near Tampa). The second week (June 10-15) will be at The Whitney Laboratory
for Marine Bioscience,
located south of St. Augustine. The last day (June 16) will be held at Sea World of
Florida in Orlando.
